Installation Of Linux

Step 1: When you are insert RHCE 5 CD 1 this (Figure no.1) screen show on your monitor. There are three options you select first option “To install or upgrade in graphical mode, press the key”

Step 2: After the (Figure No.2) there is second screen is CD found in (figure No.2) there are two option first “To Begin testing the CD media before installation press OK” and second is “Choose skip the media test and start the installation ”then you select skip option.

Step 3: Then third one screen is (Figure No.3) this screen is language selection. There are lots of languages you select the English then use tab key and press OK button.

Step 4: Then next screen is (Figure No.4) “Keyboard selection” there are many options you select “us” tab key press OK button.

Step 5: After the keyboard selection next one is installation number there are two options first is “Installation number” and second is “Skip entering installation number” use second option then press OK.

Step 6: Then next screen is (Figure no.6) Partitioning type there are four options “Remove all partitions on selected drives and crate default layout”. And “Remove Linux partitions on selected drives and create default layout”. You are create a fresh copy you must be select the last option then can’t changes on drive select [*]sda then press OK.

Step 7: After the step no 6 next one is very important your screen partitioning first you go on in this screen no (Figure No. 7.1) blue line on free space then use tab key go on new press enter then you go on second screen (Figure No.7.2) add partition first is mount point you go on size (MB) eg. 1000mb then use tab key press OK.

Then use same step you create a partition as like:

•  /
•  /boot
• /usr
• /usr/local
• /opt
• /var
• /tmp
• /home

Step No.8: At this time very simple option on (Figure No:8) “Time Zone Selection” You select the “Asia/Calcutta” You and press OK.

Step No.9: This is simple way to secure your OS system. On this screen (Figure No.9) type your login password in the option no first is password eg: (pimpri) and option no second type a same Password in Confirm eg. (pimpri) then press OK.
